choose between three fields with emphasis in finance. marketing and international business or management. The Department of Business Administration also offers a two-year executive MBA programme. The department also offers an MA degree programme (three semesters) in Human Resource Management. The Faculty offers studies towards a Ph.D. degree in both Economics and Business Administration for students that have completed an MS degree in those fields with a distinction. There is also a one-year minor Pfogramme at the undergraduate tevel. both in Economics and Business Administration. for students from other faculties. Faculty of Engineering The Faculty of Engineering is divided into four departments: Civil and Environmental Engineering. Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Computer Science Department. Studies offered in lhe Faculty include a three-year BS degree and an additional two-year MS degree. The Faculty also offers a Ph.D. programme. A full description of the courses can be found in the yearly Bulletin and on the web. There is close cooperation with the Faculty of Science in teaching some basic courses. Faculty of Law The Faculty of Law offers four types of degrees, which are designed to provide students with a theoretical and practical knowledge of lcelandic Law and Roreign/lnternational Law. Thesis is required for graduation in atl programmes. These programmes are: * A three-year programme of undergraduate studies in law. leading to a BA degree in law. * A two-year programme of postgraduate studies in law. leading to a Magister Juris. degree, which is a professionat qualification. Icelandic students may. after their BA degree in law. setect individuat postgraduate courses as part of their Master Juris. * A programme of postgraduate studies in law, consisting of one-year study line towards a LL.M. degree in Natural Resources Law and International Environmental Law. This programme is conducted and taught entirely in English. The new International Legat Programme will appty to different groups of law students and graduates from other countries as well as to lcelandic graduates if they want to continue their advanced legat studies in lcetand. We welcome as before those foreign law students who are coming to lcetand through international exchange programmes. tike ERASMUS and NORDPLUS. in order to participate in the courses of our internationat programme. * Finaly the Facutty atso offers a three years Ph.D. programme. Faculty of Medicine The Departments of Medicine. Physiotherapy and Radiologicat and Biomedical Laboratory Sciences make up the Faculty of Medicine. Medicine The six-year course of study in medicine teads to the cand.med. degree which. w,*h the addition of one year's clinical training and a license from the Minister of Health. qualifies the holder to practice medicine in lceland. A competitive entrance examination is held in June and the students with the highest grades (presently 48) are allowed to start the medical programme. All students regardless of nationatity are required to fulfil this requirement. After finishing the hrst three (pre-ctinicat) years of the medical programme. students may devote one year to supervised research, upon the completion of which they graduate with a BS degree in Medicine. Rhysiotherapy The Department of Physiotherapy offers a four-year BS degree programme. A competitive entrance examination is held in June to limit the number of students who are accepted (presently 25). During the third and fourth year. a part of the study is clinical and performed in hospitals. rehabilitation centers or private clinics. Radiological and Biomedical Laboratory Sciences The Department of Radiological and Biomedical Laboratory Sciences offers comparable programmes in radiological science and in biomedical laboratory science based on the Bologna agreement. A three-year BS degree programme. tollowed by a two-year MS degree programme. and finally a three-year Ph.D. Programme offered at the faculty. Competitive examinations are held in the end in
