Frá ársbyrjun 1943 greiddi ríkissjóður verðuppbætur á nokkrar landbúnaðarafurðir, til þess að lækka útsöluverð þeirra og þar með vísitölu framfærslukostnaðar. Á kindakjöt námu þessar uppbætur (tölurnar i svigum sýna smásöluálagninguna) pr. kg.: 3/1 til 1/5—’43 kr. 1,00 (12%), 1/5 til 15/9—''43 kr. 1,60 (13,5%), 15/9—’'43 tii 15/9—'44 ca. kr. 3,00 (13%), og 15/9—’44 til l/9—’45 kr. 3,11 (13%).
