Officially opening the newly-renovated second deck lounge in barracks 746 are: Rear Adm. John K. Beling, ComIDF, Capt. Lloyd H. Thomas, NavSta CO, and members of the local Fleet Reserve branch, Cass Caba- cunga, Dave Rose, John Mason and Curly Fritz. Annual inspections Auto inspections are now goii on at the hobby shop from 1-4 Monday through Friday for all vi hides at the NATO base with JO registration tags. Cars to be inspected next week are all vehicles with the follow- ing numbers: JO-2884 — JO-2968 April JO-2970 — JO-3053 April JO-3054 — JO-3121 April JO-3122 — JO-3185 April JO-3186 — JO-3242 April Car owners are reminded they must have their headlights ad- justed before their vehicles can pass the inspection at the hobby shop. Light inspections are held each Saturday and Sunday from 1-6 p.m. in Hangar 832. All the work was done by FRA members, principally, ETC Dave Rose, CS1 John Mason, SKI Jim Weaver and BR1 Dick Thacker. In addition to repainting the room, replacing lights and Venetian blinds, they also obtained new furniture and ordered new drapes. Wie only outlay by the naval sta- tion was new wall to wall carpet- ing. The main idea of the program, aside from providing the resi- dents of 746 with a more plea- sant lounge, was to set an exam- ple of what could be accomplished by a group of people with avail- able means. To this end, Miles Medearis of the FRA said he hopes this will inspire more groups to undertake similiar projects. Six Coast Guardsmen were recognized during a personnel inspection held Friday, March 26. CW02 Guy 0. Seago received his permanent commis- sion. ETC Robert V. Antonson, ET3 Philip S. Coulon, ET3 Thomas Dau ET3 Keith D. Manning and RM3 Richard E. Mercurio received certi: cates of advancement. LLS- Barracks lounge renovated by local Fleet Reserve Branch A ribbon cutting ceremony followed by cake and coffee in BEQ 746 signaled the opening of the renovated second deck lounge. The pro- ject which has been underway for the past three months, was sponsored by the Northern Lights Branch 255 and was formally opened by Rear Adm. John K. Beling,ComIDF, Adm. Beling, along with Capt. Lloyd H. Thomas, NavStaCO, and Cdr. Thomas H.
