‘Tesla Tune’ by Finnbogi Pétursson
Finnbogi Pétursson’s 2015 project ‘Tesla
Tune’ is presented as part of the Sequences
Real Time Art Festival. He creates
sculptures out of objects that produce
electronic or acoustic sounds. ‘Tesla Tune’
brings together different sounds that all
generate the same frequency.

‘Wisdom and Eggs’ by Kris Lemsalu
Viennese artist, Kris Lemsalu, displays her
2011 work as part of the Sequences Real
Time Art Festival. Her work mocks societal
truths about beauty and necessity through
a variety of mediums.

‘9’/Unlimited’ by Beatrice Pediconi
Beatrice Pediconi’s 2013 work ‘9’/Unlimited’
is on display at Loftsson as part of the
Sequences Real Time Art Festival. Her work
reflects her fascination with defying gravity
under water. She experiments with how
different mediums interact with water from
bronze to oil paint.

Höskuldsson
Kolbeinn Hugi Höskuldsson presents his
new work ‘Plato’s Parable of Light Astral
Pavilion 3D’ at Loftsson as part of the
Sequences Real Time Art Festival. His work
is grounded in sensory relativity but is
influenced by dreams and a goal of aiming
for the heart rather than the head.

Jónsdóttir
Hekla Dögg Jónsdóttir received her MFA
from the California Institute of the Arts.
Through her work she looks for perfect
moments when wonderful things happen

Mæri’ is on display at Loftsson as part of
the Sequences Real Time Art Festival.

Haaning
Anne Haaning received an MFA from
Goldsmiths University in London. Her work
deals with myths and the endless
production of digital media. ‘KhoiSan’

production and circulation.

Children’s Festival on the First Day
of Summer
As part of the children’s festival, Reykjavik
Maritime Museum is hosting a treasure
hunt on coast guard vessel Óðinn where
children can come play and look for clues.
Another treasure hunt will take place on
the following weekend April 25-26, along
with handicraft workshops and a
photography exhibition.

artist Laura Esteban uses photography and
illustrations to communicate her vision and

Sigurjón Ólafsson Museum
‘Interplay’ − thinking across
sculpture and design
This exhibition focuses on the relationship
between the Danish architect Finn Juhl
(1912-1989) and the Icelandic sculptor
Sigurjón Ólafsson in the years of 1940 to
1945. Both were pioneers, each in his field,
and both went unexplored paths in their
experiments with form and material.

You like Nordic films? The humour? The actors and scenery?
You’re in luck! The third annual Nordic Film Festival kicks off on
Wednesday April 15 with a screening of Hrafn Gunlaugsson’s
classic ‘Hrafnin flýgur’ (‘When the Raven flies’) from 1984. The rest of
the week promises two to three screenings per day, with films from
Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and even one from Greenland.
We’re talking about exciting films like ‘Børning,’ ‘Kraftidioten,’
‘Återträffen,’ and ‘Eskimo Diva.’ Don’t worry, yes, they have English
