Danish antiquarian, Daniel Bruun (1846-
1932), who visited the Faroe Islands on
several occasions, did show an interest in
them , and noted: “In the Catholic peri-
od there were besides churches at many
places, so-called „Bonnehuse”, of which
there can still be seen remains on some
