ice 0.5 mile NNE of Cape Horn seems to be
reaching the shore.
4/2 Cape Horn 1200Z: The ice field has dis-
appeared towards West. Only some brash left
in the sailing route.
4/o Coastal Guard Ship 1215Z: Some brash
encounterecl off Aðalvík. A closer icebelt
6 rniles off Cape Ritur. No ice within sight north
of Straumnes.

various seize on the sailing route frorn Kögur
to Göltur Lighthouse.

Icey large and small blocks, 25 miles north of
Rauðunúpar (6655/1630).
s/2 Cape Horn 1500Z: Scattered blocks sight-
ed between NW and NE 10—20 miles off the
Lighthouse.
s/2 Coastal Guard flight: The limit of brash
and small floes was 28 miles N of Cape Horn
while the margin. of unbroken ice field was 32
miles off at 6700/2225 extending SW to 6635/
2500. Inside the pack boundary a narrow belt
of 0,5 concentration brash and block was ex-
tending frorn Cape Göltur to Cape Straumnes,
while no ice was sighted to the East of Cape
Kögur.
