The margins of the leaves contained in MS A are very uneven; those of
A’ have been trimmed when used for bindings. The written space, in
two columns, measures c. 20,5x16/17 cm with 27 lines to the page.
Prickings for ruling are visible in the outer margins when whole.
The Icelandic prayer texts are written in a style of script different
from that of the Latin texts; M. M. Lårusson, however, found that MS
A was the work of the same scribe throughout. He further stressed the
likeness of the script of the Icelandic texts to that of the Codex
Frisianus, MS AM 45 fol., which is dated to the early fourteenth
century. Jonna Louis-Jensen, in her turn, found there was full identity
between the scribe of A and that of the Codex Frisianus, and also
identified the calendar MS AM 249p fol. as belonging with MS A (see
