Copenhagen MS AM Access. 7d. Psalter XI consists of two separate
leaves and a bifolium with consecutive text, that is, the middle pair of
a quire. Ff. (1-2) have been trimmed with loss of a small part of the
text: ff. (3-4) are whole. The written space measures 18x11/11,5 cm,
with 30 long lines to the page. Prickings for ruling are visible in the
outer margins of the untrimmed leaves.
Date: fourteenth century, first quarter. The script is a rather angular
book-hand. Its most striking feature is the triangular, one-storied a.
Rubrics and verse-initials in red; whenever a verse begins on a new
line, the initial has been placed in the margin. There are 4-line psalm-
initials in red and green, or in red and blue, in the usual interlaced
scroll-pattem; ps. 51 and ps. 52 have 8-line initials, both multicoloured
and very finely drawn, that of ps. 51 with a design of zoomorphic
scrolls, that of ps. 52 with vegetal scrolls. See Plates 107-108.
