acquired by Årni Magnusson. Only a stub is left of the leaf for
February-March; of April-May the inner margin with a slice of the text
near to it is all that remains; the months of June-December, with a
pascal table, are whole. In the upper margin of the first whole leaf, f.
3r, ‘Psa(l)terium Davidis’ has been added, a little below ‘Quondam
liber Scalholt.’, the latter in Årni’s hånd. See Plate 70. For an
examination of this calendar, see below, pp. 121 sqq.
When whole, the book consisted of twelve quires, 10 regular quater-
nions, and two binions, 88 leaves in all. With inclusion of the missing
parts of the calendar, the psalter and prayer texts, it could be

by a pattern of red spirals. V-shaped dividing-signs between texts
beginning on a new line and run-overs from the preceding or following
lines are also in red. Psalm-initials extend over 12 lines of ps. 1, over
8 lines of ps. 51, over 9 lines of ps. 101, over 4-7 lines of the
remaining psalms at intervals of ten, of which initials those of ps. 11,
21, 61, 91, 111, 131 are extant. Psalm-initials reflecting the liturgical
divisions of the psalter (of ps. 26, 38, 52, 68, 80, 97, 109) have
