Lbs 1977.8vo (B6). According to Skrá II p. 386,
the MS was written c. 1820. Since a part of it con-
tains Rímur af Cyrillo, which were composed in
1820°, it cannot be older than this. A list of contents
has been added on a page that was originally left
blank (56v). In the lower margin of f. 123v stands
the inscription: “Handrit Jóns Arnasonar fra Borg
i Miklaholts hr.”, and on the final page: “til mr
Jons Arna sonar a borg” and the following names
written beneath each other: “Jónsen, Jónsson, Jonas-
sen, Jón Jens, Jóhann, Jakop” and the name Sveinn
Sveinsson. On the first verso page of the MS stand
the names: “Jón Jóhansson”, “Þórður Sigurdsson”
and “Sólveig”. An Árni Jónsson, who was resident
at Borg in the 18th and 19th centuries, is mentioned
in Páll E. Ólason’s íslenzkar Æviskrár I, 1948, p. 57.
Some of the names in the MS may be those of his
children or grandchildren. At the foot of f. 98v,
where a rhyming letter (Ijóðabréf) concludes, there
is a pencil note: “Jens Jónsson nokkur á Akranesi
orti þetta Ijóðabrjef til stúlku sem hann vildi eiga”.
The MS concludes with another Ijóðabréf, which
would seem to have been composed at Snæfellsnes
by Þorsteinn Jónsson (“Ódins mögur og Imirs bein/
öfugs Nóa son eg er”), perhaps identical with the
Þorsteinn Jónsson named in íslenzkar Æviskrár V,
1952, p. 216. The MS once belonged to the minister
Lárus Halldórsson á Breiðabólsstað and came to
Landsbókasafn in 1918 (Skrá II p. 385).
Leg. occupies ff. 110r-114v. The title is: “Eitt
Æfinn Tyr af Krossinumm Christij Drottningunni af
Saba og Kóng Salamoni”.
