cement and for the development of
cements with resistance to deterior-
ation through chemical attack.
He was awarded the medal of the
Canadian Institute of Chemistry, the
Tory Medal of the Royal Society of
Canada, and has lectured at interna-
tional symposia on the chemistry of
cement.
Dr. Thorvaldson continues to make
his home at Saskatoon and is still ac-
tive in chemical research.
