grounds had just been trimmed and cut, the Memorial Hall
and all the huts were bright and inviting-
Among the names of departed members read at the
opening of the convention was that of Sigridur Bjerring —
this member of the senior Ladies Aid of the First Lutheran
Church, Winnipeg had for years been an unselfish, inde-
fatigable member of the Camp committee. Her energy and
good will toward this our largest project never diminished—
her fervor and determination to see each season brought to
a happy and fruitful finish made the work of the camp
season lighter for the other members of the camp committee.
Mr. and Mrs. S. O. Bjerring had been appointed Honorary
Members of the League — the highest award in the League’s
power to bestow on any one for work well done. The death
of Mrs. Bjerring is a great loss to many departments of our
work. The League will place a memorial to her memory in
our Memorial Hall.
Sunday morning we drove to Gimli to visit Betei and
to attend morning service at the Gimli Lutheran Church and
then Lunch. Then off to our homes — with hearts full of
thanks for splendid fellowship and friendship renewed, for
the kind hospitality of the various Women’s organizations
of the Gimli Parish, the entertainment provided by the
children and young people and their leaders and a special
tribute to Pastor J- Fullmer whose presence and partici-
pation added greatly to the dig'nity of the proceedings.
Thanks to Pastor Fullmer for his efforts on behalf of
The Sameiningin. —FLORA BENSON
