Late in February at joint
meetings between political lead-
ers and representatives of the
doctors and dentists, some prog-
ress was achieved toward solv-
ing the prohlem. The second
„No Consultation Day“ and the
withdrawal from the liealth in-
surance plan was cancelled
pending further negotiations
with the government.
However the Japan Medical
Association continues ready to
effect „No Consulation Days“
and to withdraw from the
health insurance plan in tlie
event that the government fails
to give prompt and just con-
sideration to the problems of
the Japanese doctors.

A special chartered plane leaving
PARIS on September 9, 1961 arriv-
ing in RIO DE JANEIRO on-Sept-
ember 10, 1961, has tentatively
been scheduled to provide first
class accommodation at economy
prices for the doctors and
their families who will attend the
XVth General Assembly of the
World Medical Association.
A special program of general
sightseeing with experienced bi-
lingual guides will be available
from September llth to 14th to
those joining the chartered tour.
Following the adjournment of the
General Assembly the tour will
visit BRASILIA on September
2lst; SAO PAULO September 22nd
and depart for Paris on Septem-
ber 24, arriving on September 25,
1961.
The approximate cost for each
participant will be $ 966.00. This
price will include all air trans-
portation, first class hotel, accom-
modations; the registration fee;
general sightseeing with tour con-
ductors and guides and three
meals daily while on the visit to
SAO PAULO and BRASILIA.
