Myocrisin DAYS AFTER INJECTION

after the first week the values are as low as
below 200 u^7o.
In Figure 4 serum gold curves with different
schedules of chrysotherapy are presented. If
gold injections are given every other week, the
serum gold levels are veiy low during the whole
second week. The serum values can be kept in
the therapeutic levels from 300-500 Ujj(7o, only
with weekly injections, with a dose of approxi-
mately 0,7 mg/kg of body weight.
(Figure 5)
If the dose is increased to 1 mg/kg of body
weight, the serum levels rise very high, the
peak values being even 800 ug7o, the mean value
is more than 600 ug7o. These values are clearly
higher than those ones, which are recommended
to adults.
According to these results the therapeutic serum
gold levels in children are reached with weekly
injections of Myocrisin with the dose of about
0,70 mg/kg of body weight. With this schedule,
the serum gold concentration is maintained in
the level from 300 to 500 u^7o. This study shows
too, that the dose of 1 mg/kg of body weight of
Myocrisin is too high because the serum values
increase over those levels which are recommended
to adult patients. On the other hand, at present
we dont even know, wether it is necessary to
maintain, the serum gold values in the recom-
mended level from 300 to 500 ug7o during the
chrysotherapy, for to obtain the best therapeutic
effect in children.
