In the Tables 4 and 5 the most interesting
antigens are correlated with some clinical and
serological features of JRA.
In the whole series polyarthritis was
seen in 50% of the cases, oligoarthritis in 407o
and systemic Still's disease in 107o of the cases.
Rheumatic iridocycliiis was diagnosed in 19
cases in the whole series of 104 patients (lsfity.
In the groups with the antigens B8 and BW15
iritis is more common than in the other groups.
The frequencies of oligo-and polyarthritis are
nearly identical in the first four groups with the
antigens B27, B8, BW15 and BW40. In the last
group, where the above mentioned antigens are
lacking, polyarthritis is more common. Still's
type of the disease was perhaps slightly increased
among the patients who had the antigen B8.
In Table 5 some serological findings are
correlated with these HLA antigens.
Antinuclear antibodies were more common in
the groups with the antigens BW15 and BW40.
In the last group, where the abovementioned
antigens are lacking, the seropositivity is more
common than in the other groups. In our series,
the seropositive polyarthritis occurred without any
specific HLA-marker.
