Cap 1.5—2.5 cm broad, flat-convex with low obtuse, umbo and sharp edge, the umbo yellow (b6), edge paler with a violet tinge, slimy, when dry viscous, margin somewhat silky shining, striate. Stipe c. 7 cm high, 5—6 mm thick with somewhat dilated base, slimy, violet at apex (o4), covered with a pale yellow velum forming a ring. Flesh of cap olivaceous-brownish, in stipe greyish. Gills somewhat crowded, emarginate-adnate, with a decurrent tooth, pale reddish- brown (c 7). Spores subspherical, verrucose-punctate, 7—8 X 6-—6.5 ,U. Plate, fig. 49. 76. C. Stipe elongate-conical, 8—10 cm high, 1—1.5 cm thick, somewhat bulbous, hollow, white, floccose-squamulose, no ring, the lower third of the stipe covered with a loose sheath. Gills white, free. Spores white, globose, 9—11 X 8.5—10 JU. Plate, fig. 50.
