Cap 2)4(—4(4) cm broad, somewhat convex, ochraceous-yellowish; surface of
cap and stipe granulate. Stipe yellowish, peronate, above the ring mealy-striate. Gills
free or with a decurrent tooth.

The specimens from Blönduós were very large and provided with a luxuriant
granulate coating.

Cap 5—7 cm broad, at first convex and slightly umbonate, then somewhat:
depressed, margin striate, a dirty honey yellow, covered with yellow, hairlike, erect
scales which become blackish brown. Stipe large, sulcate, at last hollow, bearing
above a large, swollen ring with rimose margin and yellow flocci. Gills rather distant,
broad, adnate or somewhat emarginate with a decurrent tooth, pale, becoming
brownish-fleshcolour.
