Cap 5—7 cm broad, at first convex and slightly umbonate, then somewhat: depressed, margin striate, a dirty honey yellow, covered with yellow, hairlike, erect scales which become blackish brown. Stipe large, sulcate, at last hollow, bearing above a large, swollen ring with rimose margin and yellow flocci. Gills rather distant, broad, adnate or somewhat emarginate with a decurrent tooth, pale, becoming brownish-fleshcolour. Spores white, roundish-ovate, 7.5—8.5 X 5.5—6.5 M- Plate, fig. 52.
