Two
Moons in
August
Martha Brooks’
new book, Two Moons in August, is re-
viewed on page 9. Martha is the daughter of
Dr. Alfred and Theodis (nee Marteinsson)
Paine, and hergrandparents were Runólfur
and Ingunn (nee Bardal) Marteinsson.
Theodis, Martha’s mother, feels that her
daughter understands and is sensitive to
crises that young people go through be-
cause of her experiences of illness, frustra-
tion and disapjjpintment in her youth.
Sturla Gimnarsson (r) was recently present
at the premiere showing of his film,
Diplomatic Immunity, in Iceland. One
cannot but wonder about the promotion
and distribution methods of Canadian
films, within Canada, when a Canadian
film has already been made available to an
audience in Iceland, but has yet to reach
major urban centers such as Winnipeg. Please
turn to page 8 for an article on Sturla
Gunnarsson and his new film.
