the Z-version of the saga,41 for the Y-MSS have here .. at Óláfr færi i fleiri
klædi en eina brók ...,” while the Z-MSS have “... at Óláfr hefði færri eða
fleiri klæði en eina brók ...” Some MSS of the Z-group evidently had, like
SLR, jleiri eSa jœrri, for the text in Marg-fróðir Söguþættir, which is printed
from a lost MS of this group, has the words in this order. 568, a Z-type MS,
is defective in this part of the saga, and all that remains is “at Óláfr hefdi
f... en eina brók,” so that it is impossible to tell which reading it had.
Below is given a completé list of the quotations in SLR taken from
the sagas which are included in AM 568, 4to, except Egils Saga, to-
gether with the page numbers of the editions on which they occur:42
Kjalnesinga Saga:43

bably to be regarded as a para-
phrase rather than a quotation,
as none of the MSS have the word

DG 55 Brat: Kolfidur i Bua Sógu:
Akof ertu möder ad amæla mier
og mun brát betur verda (17). —
This entry is in DG 55 but was
omitted from SLR. The words ad
amœla mier are evidently an ex-
planatory expansion by the com-
piler of the glossary, as they do
not appear in any of the MSS.

96 Ojorsynia: Þad ma heita mikil
