ungis vegna glímunnar við að meðhöndla LLT
heldur einnig vegna þarfar fjölskyldunnar á sér-
hæfðri aðstoð við að takast á við áhrif og af-
leiðingar LLT.
Heilbrigðisþjónusta fyrir fólk með langvinna
lungnateppu þarf að vera þverfagleg og ná til
þeirra þjónustueininga og stofnana sem við eiga
hverju sinni. Slík þjónusta er líklegri til að ná utan
um margþætt og síbreytileg vandamál og ekki síst
að taka til alls þess sem til staðar þarf að vera til
að einstaklingar og fjölskyldur geti lifað farsællega
með sjúkdómnum. Augu manna beinast æ meir að
því að nauðsynlegt sé að veita fólki með LLT heild -
ræna og samfellda heilbrigðisþjónustu (Jonkman
o.fl., 2016; Pinnock o.fl., 2016). Því fögnum við
og væntum þess að fá tækifæri til þess að taka þátt
í að þróa og skipuleggja slíka þjónustu á Íslandi í
náinni framtíð.
