The superlative ending -astr is always written with s,
e.g. kurteisastur 24~5, uitrastur 25, agiœtasta 164.
-st is always written in the reflexive forms of verbs, e.g.
kuedst l5, kuongadist 21, liekunst 58, kallast 247.
Occasionally one consonant is lost from a group of
three consonants:
b between m and r in Nordhumru 311.
d between n and l, n and s, in uanliga 3610, annsuar 3 532.
g between r and ö in a byrd 175 284.
t between s and k in syskina 3522 and perhaps between
s and l in kosligastur 102. kosligr without t is conceivable
cf. brotligr (brjóta), kosorð, koseyrir, but Flat has kost-.
c) Word forms.
The definite article is ten times written with hi-, e.g.
hinn 2312, hit 34, hin 33, hins 2711, hinum l6, hinu 191, but
there are three instances with e, ens l2, en 44 298 (cf.
Bandle 354-55).

Adverbs. The contracted form of the negative ei, is
found l8 etc. beside the original form eigi 73 etc., eige
713 etc., and the abbreviated eci 51 etc., expanded in the
edition as ecki. giarna is found in its original form 78. burt
is always so spelt, 64 etc. The newer form alldrei (<
aldreigi < aldregi) is found once, 72, beside alldre three
times, 511 2926 3620, and aildri once, 2412 (cf. Bandle 135).
