§ 4. Lbs 1572 4to.
Lbs 1572 4to contains a complete version of the
Æfentýr, closely related to that in Lbs 2421. It is slightly
abbreviated and fairly freely adapted but there are no
really significant changes and often the wording is
identical in the two versions. They share the error of
making Haraldr the nephew of St. Olaf instead of his
brother (67-68). A selection of the variants that have not

§ 5. The MSS in groups V, W and X.
The MSS in groups V, W and X give the conclusion
of HÞ from the Æfentýr text f rom 1222. Some of the variants
in these texts have already been referred to. A few of the
remaining ones will be mentioned here:
