Editiones Arnamagnæanæ. Series B - 01.06.1962, Blaðsíða 185

Jón Þorkelsson hefir gefið út, Reykjavík, 1855, xiii-xvii
and 44-68. This edition was reprinted by Theodor Möbius
in Analecta norrœna, Leipzig, 1859, viii-ix and 186-203.
A second edition (anastatic) of Sex sögu-þœttir appeared
in Leipzig in 1895. J.Þ. prints the text of HÞ from JS
434 4to and some of the marginal notes in this MS
appear as footnotes in his edition. Where the marginal
notes say, cancellis inclusa omittunt alii, the editor is
inconsistent in his treatment of the text, sometimes setting
it in brackets and letting it stand, sometimes relegating
it to the footnotes. He makes occasional emendations
(e.g. Eldmars to Eldjárns 224) and normalises the spelling.
The Flat text of HÞ is contained in Guðbrandur
Vigfússon and C. R. Unger’s edition of Flateyjarbók,
Christiania, 1860-68, III 400-10.
Guðbrandur Vigfússon edited HÞ in Icelandic Sagas I,
R.S. 88i, London, 1887, xxxv and 347-87. The text is
taken from AM 65 fol. with additions and variants from
AM 326 a 4to and Hr. Where AM 65 fol. ends (3425),
the editor gives the following passage until 3435 fyrir
sakir Hemings (sic) from AM 326 c 4to, assuming that
it is nothing more than a late attempt to fill a lacuna
in the text. Then he picks up the Hr text at the words
Epter dauda (3512) and follows it until fylgja honum (3711).
Finally he gives the conclusion of the þáttr from Hb,
beginning with Ásgeir’s transcript in AM 326 b 4to (3719),
and giving a few variants from Hr as long as the two
texts overlap.
The Hb text of HÞ is contained in Det Kongelige Nordiske
Oldskriftselskab's critical edition of Hauksbók (made by
Finnur Jónsson and Eiríkur Jónsson), Copenhagen, 1892-
96, LXXXVIII-XCI and 331-49. This edition includes
the passage from Ásgeir’s transcript in AM 326b 4to.
The incomplete Flat text of HÞ has been printed
again, with normalized spelling, in Fornar Smásögur, ed.
Edwin Gardiner, Reykjavík, 1949.
