Ársrit Bandalags lúterskra kvenna 41 Two ministers stayed at camp through the three periods: Rev. S. Olafson and Rev. E. H. Fafnis—for one summer Mrs. Fafnis stayed at camp with their three little boys. Mrs. F. Johnson, Mrs. H. F. Danielson, Miss Kristin Skulason and myself were there for all of the three periods. Mrs. S. Sigurgeirson and Petra Jonasson for two Periods. Mrs. S. O. Bjerring and Miss Runa Jonasson for one period. It is worth mentioning that all these people did not only give their time but paid their fee of $6.00 for the period as well, that being the fee charged for the ten days. We have dreamt that this might be the beginning of our future work—that here had been laid a foundation for the future Work of our organization. During this convention it will be for you to decide whether we carry on this work or give it up . . . If we continue we need more support and deeper understanding” (this is translated from the Icelandic). I also take the privilege of quoting from the secretary’s report in Ardis: “The matter was discussed with avid interest. The ministers present, Rev. E. Fafnis, Rev. S. Olafson and Rev. B. A. Bjarnason, stated verv definitely that this endeavor of the L.W.L. was already recognized as a big factor in building a firmer foundation for our church life and especially of creating new currents of interest and faith among our young people. They said furthermore: “We extend our grateful thanks to the small band of women of the L.W.L. whose courage and loyalty and idealism has launched this work to a successful start.” Excellent discussions followed. Finally Mrs. O. Stephanson asked the question whether at this time it would be possible to
