54 ÁRDÍS Sunday School we are laying the foundation for our church of tomorrow. Blessed is the church rich in people who are willing to labor in the Sunday School. That brings us to our next question: What about our young people, the ones about to be confirmed and the newly confirmed. They may feel too old to attend Sunday School but still be anxious to work for the church. There will be good material there for Sunday School teachers but we can not make teachers out of them all. We want to keep these young people in the church for all time, and how are we going to do it? They are tomorrow’s congregation. We need young people’s organizations. The next topic I would deal with is that of our women’s or- ganizations. We have Ladies’ Aids, Women’s Associations and Dorcas Societies. How these work has been made evident in their reports. But are we—the women of the church, the members of these organizations—conscious of the fact that there should be a spiritual side to our work. Do we pray for the growth of God’s Kingdom? Do we attend the services in God’s House regularly? Do we avail ourselves of the means of Grace by reading God’s word and receiving communion? These are of far more importance than earning money to place in the church treasury—We have very few Missionary Societies in our Synod. Should we not have more? Should we not do more for Christ? If we did more for Foreign mission work—and remember, we have our home mission work as well—then we would be making an attempt to obey the words of Christ when He said: “Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you even unto the end of the world.” Many say: “We have enough to look after our own, we have no interest in foreign missions, for the first thing we know these people will turn against us”—referring to what is happening on the Dark
