girls, a camp which is very diversified in all its aspects. We have
its deeply religious side which is amply cared for by our excellent
deans who have given so much of their time to the cause of our
camp. There is the physical side where children play, swim, hike
and have all manner of fun. On rainy days we have our library,
which the library committee is in the process of making very worth-
while indeed with new cupboard and work tables. We hope to have
a very lovely library this summer. The Handicraft has been a
wonderful addition to the efficiency of our camp. Under the able
direction of Mrs. Sophie Wathne and her assistants, the children
have been taught the rudiments of weaving, which they all enjoy
so much, taking home towels and runners woven by themselves.
We hope that Mrs. Wathne’s health is such that she can keep up
her wonderful work with our children.
We are hoping that this year we will have better sanitary con-
ditions as an effort is being made to raise money for better toilet
facilities. Our camp director, Mrs. Olafson, will be at camp and
under her guidance the camp will be its usual happy self. In our
pleasant planning for this summer’s activities at camp, our hearts
are touched with sadness for we have lost two dear and steadfast
friends of the camp who gave us much that we cannot forget. Rev.
Egill Fafnis and Sveinn Palmason who left us for the realms above,
blessed be their memory.
I will close by rendering my thanks to all the members of the
executive who attended meetings this year, and to Mrs. Olafson,
who implanted much of her strength to me so that I could carry
on my work as president of our League. I thank you all for your
kindness and tolerance.
