Secretary's Report
Report of the Fortieth Annual Convention of the Lutheran
Women’s League of Manitoba (Icelandic) which was held June 5,
6 and 7, 1964, at Arborg, Man., under the auspices of the Ladies’
Aids of Arborg, Vidir, and Geysir.
Friday, June 5th, 8:15 p.m.
Prior to the official commencement of the convention, Pastor
F. Schmitt conducted a devotional period. Miss Mattie Halldorson
chaired the convention. Mrs. Magnea Sigurdson gave the address
of welcome with Mrs. Ingibjorg Olafsson replying to same, on
behalf of the executive members and delegates. The pledge was
read and the credentials received. The President’s and Secretary’s
reports were presented, and the Treasurer’s report, on behalf of
the Lutheran Women’s League, showed a balance of $259.18 with
$104.60 in a special fund for a new stove for the Sunrise Camp.

A minute’s silence was observed in honor of the following
members of the various ladies’ aids who had passed away since
the last convention—Mrs. Margaret Johnson, Mrs. Thjodbjorg Hen-
rickson, Mrs. Sigurfinna Cain, Mrs. Ingibjorg Thorvardson, Ladies’
Aid, Winnipeg; Mrs. Margaret Thorbergson, Riverton: Mrs. Anna
Finnson, Women’s Association, Winnipeg: Mrs. Svana Sveinson,
Arborg.
