Report on Sea Ice off the Icelandic Coasts, Oct. 1959-Sept. 1960
The Icelandic coasts tuere free of drift ice
throughout the period. Only a few icebergs or
blocks of drift ice were sighted from the north-
western promontories.
Distances are given in nautical miles.
OCTOBER 1959
The average distance of ice boundary from
Cape Straumnes was about 125 miles.
10/10 The boundary of fast ice was running
from 6745/3155 to 6820/2615 to 6835/2530 to
6928/2230.
23/io Ice pack boundary was running from
