Originally developed as an oral diuretic—with effectiveness comparable to that of
parenteral mercurials—further extensive dinical research has shown CHLOTRIDE
to possess the following unique advantages in the therapy of hypertension:
potentiates the action of reserpine. Veratrum, hydralazine, and ganglionic
blocking agents such as MEVASINE* / permits reduced dosage of these drugs
and, therefore, lower incidence of side effects / enhances the effects ot
splanchmcectomy / simplifies dosage regimens / may permit more liberal
dietary salt intake / virtually nontoxic
