7 is responsible for fo. 28r lines 23—31 subvpu-rney-
752—762. The hands of this page are hard to tell
from one another, but 7 seems distinct from 1, though
not certainly from 2, 3, 5. In this connection the forms
sierr 754, suo 753, Sg 7512 should be noted.
8 is the second major hand of Gibbons saga, respons-
ible for fos. 28v—30r, while what can be seen of 30v
is also in this hand.
B (= Stockh. Perg. fol. 7) “Senare halften af 1400-
talet.” A vellum manuscript of sixty-eight leaves,
29.5 x 22.5 cm., containing, in addition to Gibbons
saga, complete or fragmentary texts of ten romantic
sagas. The manuscript is in two columns, Gibbons
saga, written in a single hand, occupying fos. 48va
line 25—51 va. There are forty-six lines to the column,
and the written area of the page is 24 x 20 cm.
Between fos. 49 and 50 there are two leaves missing,
involving the loss of about one third of the saga text.
Fo. 49v ends with the words standit vpp ok klædizt
2316—241, while fo. 50r begins j turninum 783. At
the bottom of fo. 49v are written the words vantar
2 blðd. in Jón Sigurðsson’s hand.
The vellum of the part of the manuscript containing
Gibbons saga is in very good condition. A crease runs
across the lower part of fo. 48, making parts of two
or three lines hard to read. A tear frorn the outer
edge of fo. 49 preceded the writing of the text, as
did a number of holes in fo. 51. Otherwise the vellum
is well preserved and, since the ink is still clear, the
saga is easily readable from this manuscript.
The text of Gibbons saga is divided into paragraphs,
the division agreeing with that of A, save that no
new paragraph is begun at Nw er þar af at segia 804.
Space has been left at the beginning of each para-
graph for a large initial letter, but in general these
