millum H. Hartzianum Dahlst. og H. Ostenfeldii Dahlst.

greint tey til eitt frábrigdi av hesum slag.
Hetta frábrigdið víkir frá H. Hartzianum við sínum
smadlru og meira óregluliga tenntu stovnbloðum, við sínum
smæilru kurvum, lægri Ikurvareivum og sínum meira stjornu-
hærdu 'kurvareivbloðum.
Kanska er hetta nýggja frábrigdið meira sjálvstoðugt, enn
eg haldi, men einans kanningar av storri tilfari fyri at
samanbera tað við H. Hartzianum kunnu prógva hetta.
SUMMARY
Last winter (1953—54) I was asked to identify a numiber of
Faeroese specimens of Hieracia belonging to ithe collection of Mr.
Rasmus Rasmussen, a former headmaster in Tórshavn. Tihe-e speci-
meins ihad been coUected hy him several years ago in various lo-
caliities in the Faeroes. I had never hefore studied species of Hieracia
from tíhe Faeroes, and therefore I felt the need for comparative
material, especially as «xamples helonging to tihe Faeroes species
were not availahle in Iceland. The Botanical Museums of Stoek-
holm and Copenhagen did me tlhe great favour to lemd to me all their
specimens of Faeroese Hieracia, and for tlhis I slhould like to
express my most cordial thanks. 24 species of Hieracia are known
from the Faeroas (Dahlstedt 1903). — Undoubtedly one of these
species, viz. 11. danicum Dahlst. was dntroduced during recent
times. —- In the collection entrusted to me I found 13
