Viðbót til Hieracium-gróSurin 125 ful specimens. However, besides this, I found 6 inew species and one new variety. Among tlhese there is a fine examplie of a species belonging to the Alpina Section, íbut ’hitherto no spiecies of this section has been recorded from Faeroes. This seems to stress the need for more detailed investigations on the Hieracium- flora of tlhe isles. The paper contains original descriptions of ithe new species. The type specimens are preserved in the collection of the Natural History Museum in Tórshavn, Faeroies. Alpina. H. Rasmussenii n. sp. (vide pag. 116), which belongs to Alpina Genuiina, is a veiy interesting speoies as mo speci- mens of that Seotion have previously been found in the Faeroes. Unfortunately it is represented iby one example only. Its further distribution ds at preeenit not known, and it is not poasible to evaluate its eventual variability. This new species is distinguished by its black glands, on the whole stem, by its small eubentire radical leaves, tlhe sliglhtly developed stem-leaves, the lack of bracts about the summit of tlhe stem, and iby its darkish and unusual long-pilose involucre. Comparing the present .specimen with Icelandic species of this Seqtion it does noit seem to be closely allied to any of these. As to the indumentum of the oharaoteristic involucre it resemibles H. ta- raxacifrons Oskarss. from W.-Iceland, and ithe shape of the radical leaves is very similar to that of H. percome Om., but in all other nespeots it differs essentially from t'hese two Icelandic Alpina. Vulgata. H. saxunense, n. sp. (vide pag. 117) is closely re- lated to H. subcordifrons Dahlst. ibut it differs from that species in having slenderer and lower growth, narrower and longer inner radical leaves and a lower stem-Ieaf. All the Ieaves are of deeper green colour pilose above, and without cordate hase. Plhyllaries are narrower, more acuminate and conspicuously floccose. I have compared many specimens of H. subcordifrons from different localities with the present speci- mens. But as I have not bieen abile ito find intermediate atages be- tween them, I think it justifiable to raise the form mentioned to a specific rank. Cørinthoidea. Hieracium haplodontum n. sp. (vide pag. 119). Tihis species is most closely allied to H. peramplijorme Dahlst. and H. melanochrotum Dahlst. It differs mainly from them iby hav- ing broader and characteristic deltoid dentate radical leaves, which are more pilose above, the large o'bovate shaped lower stemleaf,
