An exhibition was held to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Norwegian
poet Bjornstjerne Bjornson.
At the request ofthe Icelandic Ministry of Education and in co-operation with the
Arnamagnæan Institute in Iceland, a few books and four leaves from a manuscript
were lent to the Pierpont Morgan Library in New York on an exhibition in con-
nection with “Scandinavia To-day”.
Safnahúsið. Safnahúsið, the building that houses the National Library and the
National Archives, was built in 1906-1908. Considerable repairs were carried out on
the outside of the building during the year, it was painted and the windows were
thoroughly checked.
