JOHANNA EAGER

Johanna Eager was born in Winnipeg on December lOth, 1890
—the daughter of Ingveldur Thorsteinsdottir and Finnur Stefanson.
After completing her education Johanna worked in the office of
Bulman Bros. until her marriage
to Harry Eager in July, 1919.
They had two sons William
Headley and Garry Robert.
After she suffered the loss of her
husband in 1927 — Johanna
carried on, making a good home
for her two sons, with their wel-
fare always uppermost in her
heart and mind.
Both her sons served overseas
in the Royal Canadian Air Force
and then Johanna had to endure
the sorrow of Williams death
in the line of duty in December,
1943. Robert was returned to her
side after being held prisoner
of war for many months.
Johanna passed on to her rest
March lOth, 1950 after a lengthy
illness, pain and suffering of
which she bore with great forti-
tude and strength of spirit. She is survived by her son Robert,
who is married to the former Mary Camsell, a grandaughter Susan
Mary and two sisters Nia Thompson and Lara McAlpine of
Winnipeg and two brothers, Stefan of Vancouver, and Fredrick of
Fort William.
Johanna was a life long member of the First Lutheran Church
of Winnipeg and for many years served faithfully as a member of
the Woman Association of that Church.
