President's Report
Convenlion at Langruth, June 1, 2 and 3, 1951
Officers and members of the
Lutheran Women’s League:
Again we are privileged to come
together for this our Twenty-
Seventh Convention of the L.W.L.,
and for the fourth time are accept-
ing the gracious and generous hos-
pitality of the Ladies’ Aid of
Herdubreidar Congregation at
Langruth, Manitoba. Those of us
who had had the pleasure of at-
tending conventions here before,
have looked forward with eager-
ness for these three days with you
in your community. Those who are
attending for the first time will
experience the inner satisfaction
of friendly contacts, be conscious
of a broader outlook on various
topics that come up, and thru
interchange of ideas and friendly discussions, form a mutual bond
between all members of the L.W.L. I have always had the feeling
that it was a privilege to be chosen as a delegate to attend these
conventions. There is within this group of women such depth of
character, and wealth of wisdom and experience that comes to light
through the various reports given, that is real inspiring. Many of
these Aids have a membership of as few as ten or twelve souls.
They are an example of what can be done, when the right spirit is
the moving factor, and the will is there to accomplish the objective
before them.
It gives me great pleasure to announce to this convention that
the Dorcas Society of the First Lutheran Church of Winnipeg, and
Betel Ladies’ Aid of Silver Bay are joining the L.W.L. I bid you
very welcome into our membership, and trust it will be mutually
beneficial.
Last fall I was very happy to accept an invitation to a joint
