47 These are examples of reasoning that is present in the ReDO- programme and that if the ValMO-model is applied, may be used in many additional occupational therapy interventions. And here comes my second challenge: to what extent do the reasoning underlying in the VaMO-model appeal to people in gene ral and OTs, outside the Swedish context? Is the model generaliza- ble since it focuses on a way of describing and communicating occupation without, e.g., framing cultural norms and routines? More specifically it is interesting if the mod- el may enable understanding of individu- als’ doing and what shapes it, in other contexts? It seems like the ValMO-model can be useful for OTs in other countries. To what extent it is useful in more deviant cult- ures is yet to explore? So, going back to the introduction, I am honoured by the Icelandic OTs who tra- velled to Canada to do the ReDO-training. I hope that their initiative is the start of a continuing knowledge exchange and development of the ReDO- programme, and the ValMO-model, internationally. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT I wish to thank Erna Sigmundsdottir, editor of the Iðjuþjálfinn for the opportunity to in- troduce my work and the first five certified ReDO-leaders in Iceland for support and advices in the writing process.
