30 NÁTTÚRUFRÆÐINGURINN ABSTRACT Floral news from Iceland by Ingimar Öskarsson. This essay reports on some new localities for vascular plants in Iceland as well as on some new forms which have not been mentioned before. The most remarkable findings are: 1. Botrychium lunaria (L.) SW. forma microphyllum f. nova. Gunnarsstaðir at Breiðifjörður, W. Iceland. Smaller than the type. The steril leaf very small, not pinnate, fastened to one of the tiny branches of the sporangia. 2. Campanula rotuniifolia L., var. arctica Lge. Heydalur, N.W. Iceland. In abun- dance in a birch copse. The stem 40—60 cm high. The length of the pressed corolla 3,0 cm and its breath 3,6 cm. (See fig. 1). 3. Carex dioeca L. X C.canescens L. (Syn: C. microstachya Ehrh.). Brennistaða- skógur in Heydalur, N.W. Iceland. Found in abundance on moist ground, but only in one locality. New to the Icelandic flora. (See fig. 2). 4. Cerastium Edmondstonii Murb. & Ostenf. Kaldalón. Found at a height of a few metres above sea level. New to N.W. Iceland. 5. Draba rupestris R. Br., forma acaulis f. nova. Galtahryggur in Heydalur, N.W. Iceland. The stem is lacking or nearly so. The rosette densely leafy, the leaves entire — subentire and very densely clothed with simple and forked hairs. The flowers very few, normally developed. 6. Epilobium palustre L. X E. Hornemanni R§lib. Þórólfsstaðir in Dalir, W. Ice- land. New to the lcelandic Flora. 7. Erigeron boreale (Vier.) Simm., var. pycnophyllum v. nova. “A typo foliis caulinis valde densis, calathidiis numero 3—10, recedens.” Differs from the type by its very densely placed steam-leaves. The heads 3—10. (See fig. 3). 8. Epilobium collinum L. forma lactiflorum f. nova. Vík in Mýrdalur S.E. Ice- land. The corolla milk white. 9. Leontodon autumnalis L. forma leucotrichus f. nova. Kelda in Mjóifjörður, N.W. Iceland. Involucres light-green and whitish wooly. Styles yellow. Otherwise like the type. forma purpureus f. nova. Ármúli, N.W. Iceland. With a single head, which is much larger than in the type. The outermost flowers purple outside. Very few examples were found together with the type. 10. Puccinellia maritima (Huds) Parl. Saltadý at Hamrar in Haukadalur W. Ice- land. Met with here at a distance of ca 15 Km. from the sea. In moist, stony place, where groundwater containing Calciumcarbonate is oozing out. In Ice- land this species has never been found before but on the sea shore. 11. Saxifraga Hirculus L. var. alpina Engl. Vík in Mýrdalur. This rare variety is new to S.E. Iceland. 12. Sparganium angustifolium Michx. Hundadalur in Dalir. New to W. lceland. 13. Valeriana sambucifolia Mikan fil. Grenhjalli in Laxárdalur (Hornafjöi'ður). Without flowers, but with typical leaves. A few specimens were found. New to S.E. lceland.
