In 1959 the Architectural Associa-
tion of Iceland established a perma-
nent exhibit on building materials cmd
components to facilitate the compari-
son of building materials and data in
connection therewith.
Apart from the 60—70 manufac-
ture's cmd distribution's exhibits, lec-
ture evenings and film showings have
been arranged occasionally by the
Service in different communities.
Development oí Electric Power in Ice-

The first hydro power station in Ice-
land came into operation in 1904.
Thirty years later the number of stat-
ions had climbed to 38 scattered all
over the country with combined po-
wer of 5000 kW and annual produc-
tion of 10 million kWh. Presently, the
total power stands at 150.000 kW with
annual production at 650 million kWh.

show the power stations and net-
works in 1933 and 1964, respectively.

actual and anticipated electric power
production 1904 to 1994 and illustra-
tion no. 4 the accumulated production
for each of the three periods.

relationship between cost (in thous-
