12,h International Congress of the World Federation of
Occupational Therapists
Preparations are well under way for the 12th Intemational Congress of the World
Federation of Occupational Therapists. The Canadian Association of Occupational
Therapists is excited to host this event in Montréal from May 31st to June 5th, 1998.
As a bridge between the traditions of the Old World and the dynamism of the New,
Montréal has its own charm and personality. The event will take place at the Palais des
Congres de Montréal, located in the heart of the business section and in close proximity to
the old city.
The Congress theme, Sharing A Global Perspective, is designed to unite occupational
therapists from around the world to explore the diversity and uniqueness of their
profession. Highlights for this Congress include: A rich and varied Scientific Programme,
an exciting Social Programme and a large commercial Exhibit featuring products and
services of interest to all in the field of Occupational Therapy.
WFOT ‘98 promises to be a challenging, insightful, educational and entertaining
experience. The June 30 early registration deadline has already drawn a record response:
• Over 1500 abstracts have been submitted
• Over 1500 early registration forms have been received
• Half of the exhibit space has already been sold
