(21) I cT (and 3 Bucepliala sp.) seen near Hafnir, SW. Iceland, 26 December
1966.
(22) 2 cTd' seen on the Sog, 4 January 1967.
4. Icelandic specimens arc referable to Bucephala clangula clangula. Statements
in tbe literature referring to this species breeding in Iceland are unsub-
stantiated and are probably based mainly on Millais’s doubtful sight record
(see above) of a femalc witli young and partly on Nielsen’s specimens whiclt
were wrongly identified. Records since 1960 indicate, however, that the
Common Goldeneye is a regular winter visitor in SW. Iccland, ancl a few
occur every year at Mývatn. Whether the recent apparent increase is real
or only a result of increased observations is not known.

megin við utanverðan Eyjafjörð. Surns staðar
heim að túnum, t. d. á Stóru-Hámundarstöð-
um. Einnig fundið í Hrísey sumarið 1967.
Á Austfjörðum vex það allvíða á norður-
