RESIDUE OF LINURON IN SOILS 11 FIGURE 4. Typical chart recording using standards of dichloroaniline and fortified potato samples. 4. MYND. Dœmigerður aflestur frá mtelingu á dichloroaniline stöðlum og staðalbœttum kartöflusýnum. An average recovery of 22% was assumed. Although this was a low recov- ery, the consistency over the range of fortification was sufficiently good to sug- gest that the partition losses are constant and there is justification to make a correc- tion on this basis. In table 5 the results are presented for those potato samples which were analysed for linuron. For comparison with these results it should be noted that the potato sample which was used for recovery studies was taken from a field which was known to have never been treated with linuron or any other herbicide. Analysis of this sample gave an apparent residue value of 0.0042 ppm, which if corrected by the same recovery factor as the treated crops, gives a level of 0.019 ppm apparent linuron residue.
