LÆKNABLAÐIÐ ITCH + SCRATCH = EXACERBATION AND INFECTION Serotonin is a suspect in allergic reactions not responsive to antihistaminics. Periactin, a potent antagonist of both histamine and sero- tonin, provides comprehensive oral tregtment of pruritus. Indications: Pruritus associated with angioiieurotic edema- urticaria-dermatitis-oeurodermatitis-neurodermatitis circum- scripta -chickenpox- anogenital pruritus - eczema-eczematoid dermatitis-drug reactions-neurotic excoriations-suhbí/rn- insect bites-contact dermatitis. Supplied: Bottles of 20 and 100 4-mg. tablets Periactin (Cypro- heptadine hydrochloride). Also Periactin syrup, in bottles cf 118 cc., each 5 cc. (1 teaspoonful) contains 2 mg.
