Jónína Saemundsdóttir is Assistant Professor at the University of Iceland, School of Education.
She completed a B.A. degree in Psychology, postgraduate studies in Social Work and a postgraduate
diploma in Education- Teacher Studies at the University of Iceland. She also completed an M.Ed.
degree in Pedagogy and Education with an emphasis on counseling at the Iceland University of
Education. Her main areas of interest are ADHD, counseling in education, and the development of

María Dóra Björnsdóttir is a Career and Guidance Counselor at the University of Iceland. She
completed a B.A. degree in psychology from the University of Iceland in 1997, an M.A. degree in
career counseling and guidance from the same university in 2007, and is currently a Ph.D. student
in the same field. She has done research on causal attribution for childrens´ problem behaviour at

Már Vilhjálmsson has a BS degree in geology from The University of Iceland and also did his
teachers´ training studies there. Már took a Cand. Science degree in palaeontology from The
University in Copenhagen. He is the principal of Menntaskólinn við Sund, an upper secondary
school in Reykjavík. Before that he worked as a specialist in The Ministry of Education and as a
teacher and head of department in Fjölbrautaskólinn í Garðabæ, a comprehensive upper secondary
school in Garðabæ. For years Már precided over The Icelandic Teachers´ Union´s Committee of
Interests and was for a while a member of the central committee of The Union of Academics.

Ragnhildur Bjarnadóttir is an associate professor at the University of Iceland, School of Education.
She graduated with Cand. pæd. degree in psychology from the Danish University of Education in
1989 and a Ph.D. degree from the same university in 2002. She was formerly a secondary school
teacher, with mathematics as the main subject. From 1990 she has been lecturer at the Iceland
University of Education (now School of Education). Her research interests cover in particular

Sif Einarsdóttir is an Associate Professor at the University of Iceland, Faculty of Social Sciences.
She completed a B.A. degree in psychology from the University of Iceland in 1991 and a Ph.D. in
counseling psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in 2001. Her research
is mainly in the area of vocational interests and assessment. She has also participated in research

Sólveig Karvelsdóttir is Assistant Professor at the University of Iceland, School of Education.
She completed a B.A. degree in Education and also has a degree in Student Counseling and an
M.A. in Education from the University of Iceland. Her research fields are the communication and
well-being of teachers and students, parent and teacher collaboration, and teachers’ views on their
