ive. Nevertheless we can scarcely avoid the impression
that the macroseisms at Reykjavík have been more fre-
quent during the latter half of the period. Light earth-
quakes are, as the Table shows, rather frequent at
Reykjavík, but disastrous earthquakes have, on the
other hand, never been recorded from Reykjavík, al-
though we are in possession of pretty good information
about heavy earthquakes which have occurred in other
parts of the country.
