President's Report

Dear Fellow Workers and Friends:
A year has passed since we met at our last convention which
took place in the fruitful community of Argyle. We will long
remember the kindness and hospitality shown us there.
Today we find ourselves in Winnipeg, the guests of three great
and wonderful organizations who always find time to entertain
their country cousins. These organizations are the Senior Ladies
Aid, W.A., and Dorcas.
We anticipate a convention richly endowed with spontaneous
friendship and the blessing of our Lord Jesus Christ, knowing that
His presence will be in the midst of our sessions.
This year’s achievements have not been great. We had no new
project on hand, but we have carried the torch of our Lord and
held it high, directing its rays on the work of the Lutheran Women’s
League, which is to further relationship among the Women’s or-
ganizations of our Lutheran Church of the Icelandic Synod of the
ULCA. It is also to promote and improve our Sunrise Lutheran
Camp, which is so close to our hearts. Our Sunday School work,
Temperance, Handicraft and Annual Magazine, Ardis, which is
indeed making a name for itself in our little world. The editors
are deserving of a great deal of credit for the time and thought
expended on this precious magazine of ours.
We will go back to relationship of the women’s organizations.
Why do we women want to league together? Isn’t it because we
would work together for Christ—because it is easier to work for
Him banded together than singly. We feel the delight of being
together. We love to see the smiling faces of our delegates each
year, knowing that behind their smile is a will to stand together
and to work for our Lord. We are hoping to receive a new organiza-
tion or two into our midst today. If our hopes are realized, we will
be most happy.
Our Sunrise Lutheran Camp is proving as popular as ever,
although we enter each new year with the fear that the attendance
