is to receive $300.00 for the season of 6 weeks, including accommoda-
tion and board for his family.
While it would be ideal to depend on the same key personnel
serving for a number of years at a stretch, it is inevitable that
retirements will occur. Such situations may have to be faced more
frequently in the future than has been in the past, and while it is
hoped such arrangements will work out satisfactorily, it is almost
certain to have an economic effect.
It is safe to assume that your retiring director, who so un-
selfishly has served these many years for a nominal stipend will
still be regarded as the camps “Right Hand” for an indefinite tirne
to come.
It can be reported at this time, that a capable cook has been
engaged and that the principal key staff is in sight.
An inspection trip to the camp was made by a number of the
committee members on May 21st and also for the purpose of install-
ing the water pump and connecting up the water system. With the
exception of one length of pipe that had burst through freezing, the
plumbing was in good order and is now, with the damaged pipe
replaced, in good working condition.
It is to be expected that some repairs, at least of a minor
nature will be needed from year to year, and one immediate re-
quirement is, to replace screens on a number of windows and some
of the doors. In this connection we intend purchasing the material
and having the work looked after by the camp caretaker, who by
the way, will be the same man as last year and who proved to be
very reliable and efficient.
The earth-fill that was done on the property last year greatly
improved the utility of that part of the grounds and should in time,
with a grass overgrowth, enhance the appearance of that section of
the property. Additional earth-fill, while not urgent, is still needed,
both for a margin of drainage field safety and general improvement.
The acquisition of a ’Fridge has been made and added to the
kitchen equipment which will be a great convenience.
