announce that they have been sent by two kings, Frollo
and Griffon, who rule over the lands near the Kaukasi
mountains, which lie in the most southerly part of the
world. These two kings have now come to King Arki-
stratus’ realm with the intention of compelling him to pay
tax just like the other kings in the southern hemisphere.
The king is to pay this tax by sending them his daughter,
his two sons and as niighty an army as he can muster.
The kings will thereupon go to Babylon the great and
subjugate the king who rules there, Soldán. If Arkistratus
does not agree to this, his town will be burnt down and
he himself either hanged or broken on the wheel, before
the sun has gone down in the west next day. King
