14. Hjarandi and Vilmundr are out hunting in the
forest with many attendants. They stay out there for
several weeks and Vilmundr keeps himself to himself as
is his custom. He comes to the same sandy stretches where
he has been once before and to the rock. Once again he
hears the three women talking. The old woman asks for
news and her foster-daughter tells of Vilmundr, of his
arrival at the castle, of his strength and that men think
he is a fool, and that he has overcome Hjarandi and that
the two men have sworn an oath of foster-brothership.
She relates further that a fleet of thirty-five ships, mostly
dragon-ships and drómundar, is approaching land and
that the general opinion is that it is a suitor to Gullbrá but
