and does more damage than before. The foster-brothers,
accompanied by a hundred (120) men, make a second
expedition against Kolr. They learn that he has gone to
the settlement and ride against him. There is another
battle. Kolr deals mighty blows and is also able to blunt
the swords of Hjarandi’s men. They are attacked by the
pigs and both they and Kolr’s men fall. Vilmundr begins
to fight against the pigs, and Hjarandi against Kolr.
Hjarandi’s sword cannot, however, bite into Kolr’s head.
Hjarandi receives a severe wound in his calf but seizes hold
of Kolr by the ear and tears his whole cheek off so that
the teeth shine bare. After this Kolr flees to the forest.
In the meantime Vilmundr has killed all the pigs except-
the sow, who, having bitten off one of Vilmundr’s fingers,
runs into the forest. They tell the king what has happened.
